Thanks to Kerrie at Mysteries in Paradise for hosting this absorbing meme. The weeks seem to have rushed past and I for one have really enjoyed this task.

I managed to include so many of my favourite authors, and also discover some new writers to read more of in the future.

* These books were also included in Dorte’s 2010 Global Reading Challenge.

  1. >Norman – Thanks so much for this list. I've enjoyed learning from the books you chose, and it's good to have that list to refer to.

  2. >Thanks Margot. I enjoyed you list as well and it will be especially useful as this year is the 120th anniversary of Agatha Christie's birth. We are planning [leg willing] to go to beautiful Greenway again this year, and I will be buying some of your recommended books.

  3. >I'm very impressed by your dedication in getting this list prepared Norman and hope you enjoyed your first proper shower in a while. I once went 5 weeks without a shower while travelling through remote Jordan and Egypt and I remember standing in the shower cubicle of the Cairo Hilton hotel for about 30 minutes just revelling in the simple pleasure (coming from a drought ridden country anything longer than a 4 minute shower is considered the height of wastefulness but I figured that not showering for so long made up for my extravagence). Thanks for the list, I had forgotten a couple of these and thanks once again for introducing me to Ms Franklin and Adelia Aguilar.

  4. >Norman – Oh, I hope you do get to go to Greenway. I'd love to go myself, but it's not in the cards – or the budget. Ah, well, if you get to go, I'll enjoy savoring your pictures and stories (which I hope you will share).

  5. BooksPlease says:

    >I enjoyed this meme too and found lots of authors I'd never come across.

  6. >I found this deeply interesting too, introduced me to alot of new work. Thanks

  7. Dorte H says:

    >Congratulations on finishing the meme! I am not sure I will ever get to Z.

  8. >Thanks all, I was rather pleased with the wide range of authors I got into this list. But all the credit of course goes to Kerrie for getting our brains into gear.
