Agatha Christie Festival 11-18 September

Posted: August 16, 2011 in Agatha Christie, England

One of the English Riviera’s major events of the year, the Agatha Christie Festival is next month, and one event is already fully booked.

But there are still a fantastic range of interesting and stimulating events available, including performances of Verdict at the Princess Theatre, fetes, boat journeys up the River Dart, vintage bus tours to Greenway, lectures, movies and various tea dances and dinners. On 15 September, Agatha Christie’s birthday, there is a special afternoon tea dance in the Grand Hotel, where she and Archie Christie honeymooned, and a celebratory three course dinner at The Barcelo Imperial Hotel in the evening with a view of the firework display.

You can get full details and also download a program here.

Kerrie at Mysteries in Paradise is organizing a round of celebratory posts for the 121st birthday anniversary on 15 September and you can sign up here

  1. Norman – Oh, I wish I could be there…. But I am going to be a part of Kerrie’s blog celebration :-).

  2. Norman says:

Margot, you know so much about the books you should be there lecturing along with John Curran, who edited her secret notebooks for publication. And then afterwards good Devon fish and chips looking out over the sea. :o)
