I am rather pleased I managed to pick two out of the six books as I had not read the other four, but any books by Arnaldur Indridason and Yrsa Sigurdardottir are bound to be of a high quality. The summaries of the books [see here] by the authors unknown to me also sound very promising, and interested readers have several weeks to make their own judgement on the contenders before the winner is announced at Crime Fest in Bristol on 14-17 May.

Margot, judging book prizes must be one of the most difficult and thankless tasks. Life is far too short to enter a commitment to read twenty or thirty books that you might not enjoy. Then after hours of deliberation and hard work some opinionated overweight bearded blogger tells you you have made the wrong decision. 😉

I, too, like Sigurdadottir’s books and Indridason’s. I won’t have time to read the six selections, but I have The Human Flies on my immediate TBR stack.
Am reading Harry Bingham’s Talking to the Dead, quite good.
