Favourite Euro Crime Reads of 2015

leaving berlindefencelessHummzagrebricciardiYou can read about my selection of the best European set crime fiction books I read during 2015 over at Euro Crime.

As you can see from my choices I would much rather read books with a relevant political message than crime fiction novels that are merely variations on the theme of the serial killer.

I have only read “The Hummingbird” of those on your list, and I completely agree. I’m going to get “The Defenceless” soon.
One more author who writes well on social issues and political matters is Eva Dolan.

Also, of U.S. authors, Attica Locke’s “Pleasantville” features an African-American lawyer in Houston who solves a murder while contemplating political and social issues. Good character development.

Thanks Kathy. I think you will enjoy The Defenceless. I will be posting soon about my best transatlantic reads one of which also has an African-American lawyer.
